The stuff that kids would dare say!
11.26.08 (1:06 am)   [edit]
I'm not quite sure why kids nowadays don't really hold back what they plan to say. They just fire away without considering what others especially adults would react to it. Or are they just being themselves...kids. The other day, while doing my after school tutorial, my girl student who is in grade 1 asked me a question that I was really not preapared for.

Student: Mr. Rodney, what do you call that thing down there that my brother have? (pointing her finger down there)

Me: Hmm? What is that?

Student: That thing. The one that my brother have. You have it too.

Ouch! Where was she going with this question?

Me: Ummph...I don't think you should know about that now. Wait till you are a little bit bigger. (obviously I don't know how to handle this & that was my best answer)

And amazingly, she bought it. Thank goodness I managed to distract her from asking that question again.

The same thing happened to my missus the other day. Well, not on the same topic though. Still, it's about kids who don't hold back what they have to say. My missus was telling one of her students to sit down. Instead of going back to his seat this student suddenly told her this, "Teacher, you are fat!" Both of us giggled when she shared that story with me. "Sigh" kids...kids. I hope my missus will not be surfing for fat burners product soon.
