tBlog - How far back can you recall on life?

I had this discussion with Hobbit wife a few days ago about when or what was the approximate time we started to remember things and storing them into our memory. So along the way we did some recollections of big events to the smallest mundane things that we could remember at the age ranging from infant to the age of our childhood years say 5-6. Well, to my surprise when I could recall quite a bit of details on certain events. However, Hobbit wifey said that maybe some of what we recall or remember were things from what our parents relate to us while looking at our childhood pictures. It could be that we have forgotten that they told us certain things about an event and we took it as we remembered what exactly happened in that event. For example, a mom might have told her daughter while looking at a picture at a birthday party saying "you were running around after the party and fell into the drain and hurt your left cheek." So all along this girl have her mom's word on explaining the reason to the scar on her left cheek forgetting that it was related to her by her own mom and taking it as her own memory power. Ahh! Just my 2 cents speaking to itself.
