posted by: A Very Concerned Fellow Christian Member (reply) post date: 12.18.07 (7:33 pm) Brother, since you are supposed to be a learned scholar, you should know better than to just wantonly embrace things as they are. Research on subjects or topics especially those of religious significance in your life, thoroughly, lest you get lost! I understand that you are an Adventist Christian in standing. This is why it is of utmost importance that you, of all Christians, should know about the reality of "Christmas." I do not condemn, neither do I rebuke, but I do would like to inform you (in case you don't have the slightest idea) that there should be no alignment between us Adventists (yes, ADVENTISTS!!!) with other denominations out there in the world in regards to the general perception of "Christmas." I'm going to have to drop the bomb on you right now. "Christmas" does not take place in December, much more on the 25th!! If you are persistent in celebrating "Christmas" still, at least do it sometime in March or April. Biblical and Archaeological researchers believe strongly that the real "Christmas" transpired during those times (seen the National Geographic, or was it the Discovery Channel documentary regarding this matter?). And don't just take my word for it, you yourself must RESEARCH!! Read articles and findings about these researches in books and magazines or even in the internet. I guarantee, you will find at least a thing or two. I do firmly believe that there is a valuable significance as to why the Bible did not specify the exact date of Jesus' birth on Earth in regards to subtle religious issues. I'd like to say more, but that would mean I'm just feeding you like a baby. you, Learned Scholar, who's currently working to obtain your Master's Degree, should make a considerable amount of time and effort in researching about this "Christmas" matter, for it, one way or another, no matter how small the significance (perhaps according to some, that is), is of vital importance in the enrichment of your own spiritual growth. Godspeed!!!! |
