Weekend confusion!
11.04.05 (7:40 pm)   [edit]

It's my turn to lead out for this sunday's class discussion. My topic would be on "The sociopolitical context of language learning". Hmmm...sounds serious eh? I have a bit of problem understanding the last bit of my part of the discussion. It's on "Language policy". Basically, this part talks about what/where is the  status of the English language in your country. Is it endorsed by the government? And etc... I also found out in my other reading that teaching English also involves somekind of controversy especially if it is taught to a particular group or minority. Yikes...is it that serious? There are even moral dilemmas mentioned in the article. The article didn't provide any conclusions or solutions. According to the author, the whole purpose of the article was to create a controversy in the TESOL world. He or she..whoever the author is proposed that we should really think about it. I didn't know that when we are teaching English, we are actually involving ourselves in a political act! Anyway, enough said! I don't want all of this to ruin my weekend. Have a great weekend you all! Peace...

Todd Agnew

This is my selection for this week! Todd Agnew's "Reflection of Something". It's a brilliant album with lots of great tracks! This song really reminds me of myself. Always making mistakes, but it never changed how the good Lord thinks of me. Surely, the always "Unchanging One".

Unchanging One by Todd Agnew

I looked for love in ever single situation
For something, for someone
That would last a lifetime
A love that never dies
And I find

Chorus:
You know when I wake
When I rise
When I pray
When I Curse You
And You love me the same
And You know when I stumble and fall
And You’re there through it all
The only unchanging one

I looked for faith on the edge of my roof
(No fear Daddy’s here)
Still I struggled to trust You
With the rest of my life
When I could just fly

Chorus:

I looked for God

Chorus: (2X’s)
