The Buzz
11.19.09 (12:42 pm)   [edit]
It is sad to read about famous people involved in scandals and all of those disgusting stuff in the internet. And believe it or not but this is the kind of news that will definitely go viral in just minutes! I know for a fact that some irresponsible people out there will use this opportunity to attract readers/visitors to their respective blogs/sites or whatever. This is what they call the "Buzz" technique. They use whatever current and popular topic as long as it is HOT to get the attention of curious readers and lure them to their site. Once they are there then...they will be led to other stuff on their sites. Smart eh? Some would probably be selling money making products, soft wares, diet pill review and loads of other different stuff. I, too, feel guilty sometimes when I accidentally use the current "Buzz" to lure readers into my blog. Sad but true fact everyone.

32 days more!
11.18.09 (11:55 pm)   [edit]
Yes! There are 32 days left and it's holiday time again! I really can't get it off my head. I can already imagine myself enjoying every bit of it and not wanting it to end that soon. I bet that you guys are probably excited as I am. Right everyone? This is the holiday that everyone is looking forward to especially my missus and I! This holiday, we are going to a place that we've never been before. Well, actually we kind of experienced a bit of that country. Well, just on the tip if I may say. Anyway, we're going to Cambodia Laughing! Okay, I know what you guys are thinking. It's not something like going for orlando vacations or the like, but hey, I'm sure it's going to be worthwhile. I think.

Driving + cellphone = Hospital
11.18.09 (9:39 pm)   [edit]
On my way to Big C this evening, I saw this lady talking on her cell phone while driving and at the same time making a very sharp turn at one of the tricky curve at Thong Lo's soi! Crazy lady! She didn't even care for the other motorist! One of the drivers at her back kept on honking and there she was taking her sweet time chatting away to whoever it was on her cell. Fortunately, she didn't hit any of the other passing vehicles. That is one of the driving habits that I hate most in Bangkok. People, if you really can't avoid yourself from using your cell phone while driving, please get a Bluetooth headset ! It'll be an advantage to you and others on the road!

I scored a goal!
11.18.09 (9:13 pm)   [edit]

Kickers!

I really had a great evening playing soccer with students at my school. You probably be wondering why am I playing with kids? Actually, it's teachers v.s. students. It was nothing serious though. Just a plain fun time with them. I didn't know that I still had the knack for soccer. It feels nice to score the first goal! I wished I could have scored more than one though. Darn. Anyway, like I said initially. It was a lot of fun! Poor kids, they only managed to score one goal. Even before the game ended, I could already hear them blaming so and so for the lost. Kids....Final score was 4 - 1

Ikan Bakar
11.16.09 (12:07 am)   [edit]
Know what I had for dinner? Fish! Yes! 'Ikan bakar' people. For those of you who don't know what this is...it is grilled fish. Yup. It's simply delicious. I thought having it without rice won't be that tasty, but boy was I wrong! It still tasted good with or without rice. I wish I had a picture of how it looks like..wait...let me see. Oh, I know what you guys can do. Just google image 'ikan bakar' then you guys will know what I mean. Funny thing, while on my way out of the grocery store I saw a guy who accidentally knocked his head on the main exit door. Perhaps they should put up exit signs on every entrance door to avoid this from happening again. Poor fellow.

Is this really it?

Surfs up!

Have any of you guys seen 2012 yet? I did. The movie was okay. I don't want to say that it's great because IMHO there are movies out there that are still better than this. There's one coming out somewhere this month. So, yeah. Can't really say about it until I actually watched it. All right, back to the movie that I was talking about. In terms of total destruction of the earth, I give it a 5 stars rating. Congratulations to the producers of this movie, they really thrashed the whole countries! Man, the super giant tsunami was really scary! With that kind wave, I doubt anyone would be able to escape from it. That freaking huge wave totaled every single living thing on land. Super scary again. I guess there will be no more Denver Job Search for anyone when nothing's left.

Friday 13th
11.14.09 (1:16 am)   [edit]

Friday the 13th reminds me of our dear old friend "Jason"

Woow! Guess what day is it today? It's Friday the 13th!!! Yikes! Is it supposed to be an unlucky day? Anyone? Naah...I don't believe in that. Back then, I too, believed in all that creepy unlucky stuff. Not anymore! How about you guys? Do you guys still live in fear of Friday the 13th?

To live is to learn
11.08.09 (9:53 pm)   [edit]
Why is it that for us humans to keep on living, we have to undergo changes in every seconds and minutes of our lives? In change, I mean we must keep on adding our knowledge as we encounter with new things/information. In other words, life is not static. We, whether we like it or not have to learn new things as we move on with life. Isn't that true? I don't want to be left out in the dark while other people are in the light of knowing new things. No way!

Talking about studying, it somehow direct my attention to how easy it is for us to study nowadays. With the ever growing sophistication in technology we can easily get an online degree . However, we of course need to be very careful in selecting these online study courses because some of these so called institutions are only after your money. There is one University that I can think of when dealing about online degree. Yes, it is non other than the Western Governors University (WGU). This institution is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Western Governors University is also nationally accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

One of the online courses that are most talked about is the online teaching degree . The Western Governors University Teachers College is a recognized leader in online teacher education working towards the goal of ensuring that highly competent teachers are in every classroom. These are the programs that are available at Western Governors University:

Certificate:
  • Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Preparation Program (K-8)
  • Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Preparation, Mathematics
  • Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Preparation, Science
Bachelor:
  • B.S. in Business - HR Management
  • B.S. in Business - IT Management
  • B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies
  • B.A. in Business Management
Masters:
  • M.Ed. Learning and Technology
  • M.A. in Teaching
  • M.A. in Mathematics Education
  • Master of Business Administration
  • M.A. in Science Education
All of WGU’s online teaching degree programs are nationally, regionally, and NCATE accredited, approved by the Utah Department of Education, and designed to prepare for certification in 49 of the 50 states (for initial teacher licensure). What can I say more? If these degrees are accredited and approved, then they must be good!

Health is wealth!
11.06.09 (2:23 am)   [edit]
I've been teaching my students about healthy lifestyle lately and I think it's affecting me in a good way too! We started our routine (jog in the park) last week and I've never felt better. I have the feeling that my stamina is building up because of jog we had in the park. Now, I truly believe that if we start with simple exercises, later on we'll be able to continue on with more rigorous ones. I can see that my wife is liking it too. Actually, if it wasn't for her, we wouldn't be feeling more alive and active. I guess the thought of having a fitness equipment at home won't be necessary anymore!

Happy :)
11.05.09 (12:15 am)   [edit]
I'm so in love with the chorus of Natasha's song "Happy". It's so meaningful in a way that it reminds us what we should be happy and thankful about!

It's alive!
11.03.09 (11:44 pm)   [edit]
I'm mighty glad that the blog is up and running again. I was quite upset and worried for the past few days because of the serious downtime we experienced. I hope everything's going to be smooth sailing in the future. Well, hopefully the management settled all the matters with the hosting or whatever. Aren't you all glad too? I know I am! Another thing I'm relieved about is concerning that freaking barcode scanner in the supermarket was busted. Couldn't believe it, it still beeped even though I have paid all of my groceries. That unreliable thing still beeped! Dang thing.
