Fun at the army camp
02.29.08 (11:33 pm)   [edit]
This is not a continuation of my previous post ok? Before going back to Bangkok yesterday, we went to another place that is the army camp at Nakhon Nayok. Initially, I didn't plan to do anything there. However, after giving it a second thought I decided to join anyway. Because of the limited time we had, we only managed to do two activities. The first one was crossing(sliding) to the other side of the river with a rope and the other one was shooting.

I enjoyed both of them. The shooting part was a little bit disappointing though. Out of ten bullets, I only managed to hit the target six times and the rest of the four went somewhere else. Shooting targets aren't that easy after all. Well, at least for me. I couldn't seem to see the target quite well...my eyes kept on seeing a blurred target. Plus...after finishing up all my ten bullets the guy said that my eyes were bad. Darn! Why I ought a'. Oh forget it!

Anyway, I'm glad I tried shooting the targets or else I would never had that experience. Guys, if you all think that shooting is a breeze than think again. It's not. I know...I know it looks so darn easy when you're comfortably using your home theater seating watching action movies at home. Reality bites! Ouch!

:)

See...only six hits! Darn it!

Nakhon Nayok Experience
02.29.08 (7:49 am)   [edit]
Me and my colleagues had a really great time yesterday while surveying the location for our Brigades outing this coming March. It's going to be great for the kids because this is going to be the first real Brigades outing since it was first formed at my school a year ago.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the place that we are going to next month. I mentioned *some* because as I was in the middle of taking pictures of that place, suddenly this stupid blink showed up in the LCD screen of my camera which says "battery exhausted" ..... what the? Then poof everything went out. You could imagine how frustrated I was. Alright...quit complaining already!

The lobby

Eating area

We went around the place with this Golf Cart like thingy

Some building which is unknown to me

One of the bungalows

Another bungalow

My colleagues inspecting one of the bungalows

A mango? Hmm...looks like somebody is doing something else

This is how most of the rooms look like...which is not bad I guess?

I guess that's all the pictures that I've managed to get. Next time I'll make sure that I double check whether my batteries are fully charged or not. By the way, the name of this place is Cholapreuk and it's in Nakhon Nayok. It's about one and half hour drive from Bangkok. Hopefully, those kids coming here are insured. Just kidding! I wonder if they are able to go through some of the obstacles prepared by this place. I'm kind of doubting these city kids you know. Maybe it's time for their parents to think about family insurance to make sure that they are well covered in case of anything. Yikes...I don't want to think about it anymore. Till then!

A lazy start!
02.25.08 (8:50 pm)   [edit]

I didn't enjoy my drive to work this morning. My heart was not at ease...I was forcing myself to go to work! Darn! At school, I was very sleepy and I couldn't keep my eyes open. So, in order to keep myself awake I paced here and there all around my room/office/classroom. The time went by like a turtle and I was so looking forward to go home! I imagined myself having Primera labels pasted all over my body with the inscriptions: Need sleep...can't work...wanna go home now!

Magic of EV coconut oil!
02.24.08 (9:42 am)   [edit]
The other day I was talking about coconut oil right? I guess today I'm going to dive into that same topic a bit deeper...not too deep though because I'm not an expert or something! I've been surfing about coconut oil a bit and I found out that coconut oil 'extra virgin' of course, helps us in many ways. Here's the cure list:

1.Hair loss
2.Rashes & healing of scars
3.Weight loss
4.Pimples
5.Wrinkles(that's what we are using it for:)
6.Energizer
7.Sinus, allergies & asthma issues
8.Appetite
9.Athlete's foot
10.Blood pressure
11.Bladder infection

and many more...

Woowie! I just love the 101 uses of extra virgin coconut oil! Now, some of us don't have to keep on eyeing on those diet pills anymore!

Smelling like coconut!
02.22.08 (7:52 pm)   [edit]
Finally, we can be wrinkle free once again! Now that we've got this coconut virgin oil in possession. Mrs. Hobbit bought it for 60 Baht from a friend this afternoon. I've heard lots of good reviews about this product from uncle H and a few others. That's why we're going to try it out and see it for ourselves if it really works! If it does! Good. Right now, me and Mrs. really smells like coconut! Ewww! Anyway, as the saying goes, "no pain, no gain." We'll do anything to stop the aging process from making us look like we need bath lift to help us bath ourselves. No way!

Kaling or Kilang?
02.22.08 (7:36 pm)   [edit]
The other day, one of my Malay Indian students asked a really funny question. I would like to share it with you guys over here. However, I think some of you might not find this funny if you're not Sabahan^_^

Here's the story. This student of mine was busy doing his word search when suddenly, he looked up at me and asked, "Is there any such word as 'kaling'?" I nearly burst into laughter. I couldn't help it and giggled like crazy. After struggling for some time to contain myself from laughing, finally I answered, "I think you meant kilang not kaling." He stared at me with a very confused smile. I don't think he'll ever know the reason behind the laughter. If he does know about it, I would give him free tickets for him to go on cruises for the rest of his life....yeah right! I think just a pat on the back will do.

Bye Barry!
02.22.08 (7:37 am)   [edit]
All the best to Barry on his new adventures at Avondale! We were planning to see him off at the airport yesterday, but we couldn't make it because we were on to something more important....not! We had to search for the Twin Towers Hotel around Hua Lamphong area and we went round and round for hours before we caught a sight of that place. Anyway, Barry smsed us and we gave him a call while he was going through the immigration department. You're free at last kid! Don't worry we'll take care of dada and mama...hehe. Godspeed Barry!

Final advice to you Barry, keep on running on the treadmills! You don't want those extra lumps of fats to outgrow your muscles...if you have any. Just joking!

Calories Again
02.19.08 (7:55 am)   [edit]

Do you know that Pizza Company has this 99Baht spaghetti cheese meatball on promotion? Hobbit wife and I were hungry on our way back from tutoring that we decided to stop by PC. This is our second time ordering Spaghetti cheese meatball and it is served in a tray bowl that both of us thought it would be hard to finish if we both had it. So what we did was to order one and share. How many calories are in that stuff? I dare not count. Both of us have been trying to stay away from high calories food nowadays as so not to get extra fats on unwanted place. Heh!

Oh, a friend of mine thought of managing small business phone systems. This kind of business is not easy to maintain. There are lots of competition and you really need good marketing strategy and to boost your business out there. All the best to him if he goes for it!

Another great day!
02.17.08 (11:06 am)   [edit]
Yesterday's sabbath was simply fantastic! The duration of the sermon was just perfect. We didn't go way beyond 1 o'clock. Unlike the usual service. I guess because the one serving us with the Lord's word was not the "regular" preacher. It's not that I don't enjoy the usual preacher, but he tends to stretch the time a way too much. One of these days I ought to give him a special recognition, a trophy or something. Or better still, we should give out trophies with engraved plaques with these words on it *Time stretcher*. Hehe...just joking everyone!

Anyway, after church we had the chance to ride on Zic's newly resurrected car and eat together at a nice Japanese restaurant somewhere in Soi Thong Lor with some of our Malaysian buddies. I had cooked sliced beef with rice and Mrs. Hobbit ordered something different than the rest....cold noodles. After that we drove to uncle Harold's(one of the buddies) place to practice some songs for the up coming celebration of diversity at BIC that is next sabbath. All in all it was a great day! Looking forward to more interesting and great sabbaths with them!

Too much thinking = old?
02.11.08 (5:50 pm)   [edit]
I'm really trying to enjoy the remaining days of my Chinese New Year holiday. Funny, something tells me that I'm not doing a good job on it. There are just way too much distractions around the house. Physically, I'm relaxing but, mentally my brain is always scanning here and there trying to search for any "chores" that I might missed out! My poor head!!! Sometimes all the scanning overwhelms me. I friends once told me before that you'll age faster when you have too much to think about. Ouch! I don't want to grow old because of that. If I do get old because of all this ... my only wish is for my children or grandchildren to get me a good insurance company that'll really look into my needs. Plus with medicare advantage:)

Happy Chinese New Year!
02.05.08 (6:10 am)   [edit]
Hello everyone! I'm kind of inactive at the moment. We've been very busy lately moving to our new apartment. Still in the same building though, but different floor and bigger space. I'll try to blog as much as I can this week. Yes! I'll be chilling most of the time at home during the Chinese New Year holidays! Gong Xi Fa Cai to all!
