A brief night market outing
01.24.08 (7:58 pm)   [edit]
This evening we had the chance to visit one of the many night markets in Bangkok. This one was located just outside of Carrefour. What were we doing there? Well, let's say someone is in dire need of new trousers/pants or whatever you want to call it. What happened to the old ones, I'm not really sure. I guess it shrunk or something. Hehe...

Anyway, it didn't take us long to search around for them because we already know where to get them. And that was a good thing, it really saved our time. For those of you who haven't had the experience of mixing in with the crowd in a place such as this, you would probably be surprised of the things that you might find in a night market. Lots of things...I even saw on display, mens gold watches. Now, I don't know if they are genuine or fake watches. You've really got to look at them carefully or else you might be ripped off. Well, what do you expect from a night market anyway.

Legos Aren't Cheap
01.22.08 (6:15 am)   [edit]

A little friend's birthday is coming up on January 26. I wonder what should I get him. Well, the last time I asked him about what he wished to have for his birthday this year, he said this:

I immediately hold my breath and told him, is there any other option? Perhaps something educational and not like truck accessories? Always being smart he replied with negotiation "Legos aren't that expensive. You can slowly buy for me while I put the pieces together." Hm...I wonder what he meant by that? One piece per month or one whole pack of legos per month? Anyway, haven't really decided whether to get these for him. I know he will eventually get bored of it after!

Marshmallow sofa
01.22.08 (5:57 am)   [edit]

Yesterday we looked at some contemporary office furniture and guess what? We found some funky ones and really liked it. Nevertheless, the price is just too much and for a piece of wood made into a cool table, wow!

Well, what matters most is whether the purchase is comfortable enough to sit on, to lay on, etc. Do you think these sofas (is it even a sofa?) comfortable?

It's called marshmallow sofa! It looks comfortable to sit on while waiting on a bus stop though...

Mesothelioma
01.22.08 (5:46 am)   [edit]

Just yesterday one of my friends talked about cancers and the type of medicine that could possibly be taken. Today I came across Mesothelioma. If you know what it is it becomes scary. Well, I don't read much about this topic but once in a while it is good for us to be informed right? Now what is Mesothemlioma? It is an asbestos-caused cancer of the serous membranes that surround many of the body's vital organs. The most common form of this disease is plural mesothelioma, which affects the membranes that surround the lungs. The next most common is peritoneal mesothelioma which affects the lining of the abdomen. What are the possible treatment? Well, currently there is no known cure for malignant mesothelioma but the common treatment is still surgery, chemo and radiation therapy. Probably there are other treatments out there that is unknown to me. The best thing is to take good care of our health!

Employee performance evaluations
01.21.08 (8:18 pm)   [edit]
"Halogen’s award-winning, web-based performance appraisal software helps your organization quickly create high-value performance appraisals for all employees. It’s a powerful, easy-to-use tool for cultivating a high-performance workforce that is completely aligned with your organization's goals and priorities. Our customers rave about the value and power of Halogen eAppraisal and how it has transformed their appraisal process for the better."

Can you guys believe that? Nowadays, it seems that humans are getting lazier every minute. As you can see what was said above, there's even a software to evaluate us the working people! I guess all the bosses won't be hiring or assigning any evaluator to carry out employee performance evaluations anymore! Unbelievable.

Exercise Deprived
01.16.08 (2:27 pm)   [edit]

With our busy schedules these days, my wife and I hardly have time to exercise even though we felt the urge to. Most of our friends are way ahead and smart enough to keep some sort of treadmills at home so that exercise can be more convenient and to some extend comfortable. Well, we thought of getting one but hasn't decide as to which one or whether it is worth it afterall. Nevertheless, eventually we will need one that we can afford since the 'growing sideways' that was once a myth is no longer a myth!

Seat story
01.16.08 (2:13 pm)   [edit]
A leather home theater seating would be nice to sit on while watching a movie, agree? One of the theater hall that I have been to last year wasn't any close to the word cozy. It's uncomfortable, inconvenience, and irritating. Right in front of me was a bunch of Americans who were just beginning to adjust themselves to make it more comfortable for the movie. However, some people who were sitting in their row obviously had bladder problems and had to excuse himself several times. Well, not moving an inch, these big fellows tried to squeeze their feet as to give way and probably lean back a little bit. While doing so, one man obviously got pushed all the way back and turned the whole seat into a comfortable bed thanks to the lousy seats! Perhaps, the attendance on duty should check all the seats before welcoming viewers to their theater!

Sam Fu
01.16.08 (1:52 pm)   [edit]
My wife bought a baby gifts for our friend's son last December and wanted it to be extra special since she hasn't been a good aunt. So off she went to for shopping and guess what she got? A little Sam Fu (is that how they call it?). Well, it is a traditional Chinese costume for men except that this one is for a little boy. It came one set, shirt and a pants, cute ones and I couldn't agree that perhaps the gift would suit since Chinese New Year is not far away. Well, we gave the gift and it was appreciated. Then one day the boy's mom met my wife and told her that she got the same gift exactly the same as the one my wife gave from another person! Well, she wasn't too disappointed since the mom said "I'm sure one of it will break on the threads and won't last long. So if that happens, we'll always have a back-up!"

Computer Memory
01.16.08 (1:32 pm)   [edit]
I was searching for the right vitamins in Boots one day and one sales lady came to me and said "want something that can give you computer memory ?" I was aghast for a moment. Computer memory??? Wow! Boy am I living in the 21st Century! It's not funny for people to coin technology with almost everything nowadays. Anyway, I didn't buy the product that she recommended. Instead I got myself a usual multi-vitamin that I am all familiar with. Nevertheless, good catch sales lady...computer memory...computer memory...;)

Tummy delighted evening!
01.10.08 (10:01 pm)   [edit]
This evening we had the chance to dine at our new found open air affordable restaurant. What's it called again? It's called "Red House" or in Thai "Baan Daeng". This evening was the second visit to that place since we knew of its existence. Well, actually we've passed by that place many times but, didn't get the chance to stop by and really experience the food there. On our first visit there the previous night, at first I thought it was a place for the alcohol rehab people to hang out and get drunk, but how wrong I was! I'm really bad at judging things.

Anyway, now that we have tasted the delicious food there, nothing is going to stop us from going there again! The food there is really good and it is super affordable to all! I'm not going to turn this post into a restaurant review or something, but I think a great place like "Red House" should be advertised, so that others may know about it. Well, anyway. Red House is located opposite of soi 50 in Pattarnakarn road. Yup! It's really close to home!

*I'll be posting some pics later*

Pets - Expensive Investment
01.08.08 (10:48 am)   [edit]
I took my wife to a shopping mall recently and noticed that of late there have been this wave of shops that sells pet supplies all over the place. It is doing so well ever since grooming stuff for pets are invented, which is a good thing, I supposed. So we went into some of these shops and took a look at what products or brands do those lucky creatures have? Believe me, your poodles will soon or if they haven't already own their own acres of land and live in a billion-dollar-worth bungalow! From bolster sofa bed to squeaky fleece lamb, all comes pricey (as my wife puts it). Look at some of these pet supplies. Probably you would like to buy some stuff as a New Year's gift to your pets!

Reef & Jungle Resort!
01.06.08 (9:15 pm)   [edit]
The monitor that I'm using now looks even cooler and better than the old one I was using. If you ever wondered what happen to the old one, well let's just say that it's now resting comfortably in Vivid's garbage room!
Okay, enough about that for now. Yes, let's talk about Kanantik! What is it? Well, Kanantik is a name of a resort Belize. It's a resort where you can truly enjoy the beauty of nature to the maximum! There are plenty of interesting things to do there for example scuba diving, wild life watching, water sports, visit to the Maya ruins and many more! To read more about this place click here . This is one resort that should be in our hot lists! I wished I was anywhere near there! *sigh* Just in case you can't reach the first link that I've included earlier, click here .

Happy New Year 2008
01.01.08 (9:52 pm)   [edit]
We just finished one of our course yesterday evening. It was really a fun learning experience I would say. I enjoyed the lectures and the assignments given by the visiting lecturer from Avondale College. At the end of the day, boy were we really exhausted. We spent the whole day in front of the computer struggling hard to finish up our class assignments. It was not that hard, but we had to push ourselves to finish all of them on time before the lecturer flies back to Australia. At the end of the day I could feel my migraine pinching my head. Ouch! I am in dire need of a good night rest! Okay, got to go now. Happy New Year everyone!
