Recently, one of our friends got himself a new Canon camera. And when both of us saw it, we immediately recognized that it's new. We didn't hold back our curiosity. Straight away we inquired about it and yes, no question about it. Another new gadget for him. We've been discussing about getting a new one ourselves. But, the thing is you guys know what.
Nowadays, we can't go anywhere without carrying the camera with us. It's always hanging beside me all the way. The thing with our camera is it's way too bulky and kind of large to bring around. It's time to change to a more concealable camera (not the spy camera type of course) that you could easily take out of your pocket, point and shoot! Yes! We collect lots and lots of pictures. Most of them are stored in our HDD (laptop and desktop). One of these days we are going to get ourselves a digital frame so that we can show off our pictures to our friends and family.
It's been a few days since I got back from a weekend of enjoyment at Greenery Resort and you know what? I'm still not satisfied with it yet! I want more vacations! I'm always dreaming of going to exotic places in this world. Places which offers vast beautiful nature. It's not that I'm a nature freak or something but, if you've been living in the city for way too long you'll certainly know what I mean. You really need to get away from it all. How do you plan for all of these things anyway? Well, I know of this one great site where you can plan your holidays with ease. You can actually get cheap flights from them too! Don't believe me? Check out www.holidayhypermarket.co.uk and you'll be surprised at what they have to offer for you.
Talking about vacation, one of the places in the world that I'm dying to visit is Cuba. It's not because of the cigars or rums, but it's because of the drop dead gorgeous islands they have over there! Right now, I'm slowly drifting into a dream of going there. Everyone, holidays in Cuba is just a click away.
Finally, I received the documents from the new insurance company I was talking about last weekend. However, there seems to be something missing. I don't have the sticker thingy yet. According to my friend, I'll get it this friday? I really do hope so. Looking forward to my road tax sticker too so that I won't be stop by any traffic police man along the way. Talking about insurance, I haven't subscribe to any of them yet. Is that good or bad? Well, I do have a medical insurance but I guess that's different from a life insurance. Maybe, I should look into term life insurance ? It looks good and it doesn't need a whole lot of time to complete too. Check it out!
Yesterday’s morning adventure was really tiring like crazy! I went to school early in the morning just like any other day! Scrambled to the office hoping to get my work permit from Ms. Lily, but unfortunately she was not there yet. So, I decided to go up to the library where the photocopying machine was and copied the important pages of my passport. I wanted to prepare everything so that I don’t have to suffer later. After I was done with the copying, I hurriedly went downstairs and on my way down bump into Ms. Nid. Lucky for me because she also had access to the teachers’ work permits that were kept safely in the office. After getting the work permit, off I went to fetch up my wife who was going to lead me all the way to the Land and Transportation Department (LTD) in Phrakhanong.
The traffic was really crazy. Jammed all the way guys! We even missed the LTD and that forced us to make a u-turn in the heavily jammed road. Finally, when we reached the LTD office, I thought everything was going to be smooth after that. But, nooo… it didn’t. I have all the required documents except a medical certificate! Darn! We had to go back to the clogged road and search for a clinic. We spotted a small clinic in another soi. After getting a medical certificate from that weird clinic, we went straight back to the LTD office. This time everything was there! I waited like 30 minutes before I was called in. The next thing I knew… walla! My renewed drivers’ license was at hand! Finally I don’t have to worry about anything now! All my problems are solved! I think …On my way back, I saw this huge truck with nice looking billet grilles . I wished I had one of those grilles too. Oh never mind…
Here we are at MC again. We drove all the way from Bangkok yesterday evening and also managed to involve ourselves in a little bit of misadventure. Want to know what happened? Well, I'll cut the chase short. We were held back by the traffic police for not having renewed our car insurance thingy. Shoot! And to make the matter worse, my drivers license was expired! Double shoot! Luckily, I got on the cell phone with my most trusted friend a.k.a car dealer and asked him to talk to the policeman. Which he did and the whole thing was cleared up within 5 minutes. Oh, ya and we didn't have to pay anything too.
To tell you guys the truth, we changed our car insurance provider and currently they are still processing our documents. We are already approved by the way, we are still waiting for them to send us the important insurance sticker! Hurry up will you guys!
Carol singing "Gemilang"
We arrived at MC around 5:30 pm. An hour after that we attended an AY fund raising concert at the MC auditorium. The concert was great and the singers, musicians and everyone who took part were all really talented! Double thumbs up for Carol!
Later that night, uncle Nalton and I set up the new router he bought last week from Panthip. And walla! The whole house is wired! Wireless of course. That's why I'm able to do my blogging right now! I really missed this place(Lampadan's residence)! It really brings back good old memories of yesteryear! Every time we're back here, past nostalgic memories will start playing on my head especially the time when all the pioneer students were sitting merrily together on uncle Nalton's home theater carpet watching VOP family reunion concert. Ahh...those were the days. Later...

I recall way back in 2004 reading the newspaper about a daughter who had no other choice but to send her beloved mom to a nursing home because of severe dementia. As painful as it was, this daughter (forgot her name) couldn't hold her tears seeing her mom waving at her when she first walked out the nursing home. Carrying the thought that the mother would now have extra special care, little did she realized that she was totally wrong! One night she got a call that her beloved mother was sexually assaulted by another 83 year old resident! What a news! Well, I believe that nowadays they have restricted the rules as to who actually goes into the home. If you are interested, one of the best nursing homes in the bay area can be found at gilbertguide dot com.
My wife likes to browse her favorite celebrities' websites. She loves to get updates on the latest fashion and make-ups. Usually while surfing, she will call out and tell me how she likes certain dresses and certain shades of make-ups, to which I will simply reply with expressions such as "Oooh!", "Wow!", "Oh yeah?" These remarks are bearable. What is unbearable sometimes is when she starts off with questions such as "Why is such and such always looks good?" or "Why do they have flawless face?" or worst still "why am I not pretty enough?" Well, I always convince her that she is always pretty especially to those who loves her and told her that what she sees in those celebrity isn't always real! I am not saying that she doesn't appreciate her looks, but literally comparing oneself to some of these Hollywood stars is ridiculous! We all know it is a fact that most celebrities go for plastic surgery to make themselves look picture perfect and most of these plastic surgeons have so much to offer to their customers! Look at Honolulu plastic surgery that offers free consultations and big discounts. How can stars say no to beauty?!
I was feeling fine on my way to school this morning until I stepped into my classroom a.k.a homeroom. A few minutes after stepping in, suddenly I felt this tortouring ache at the back of my head! What the! What happened to me? I don't know. I had to bear with it through the rest of my teaching. As if the kids weren't giving me enough headache already! I called my wife on the phone and she told me to buy one of those energy drinks available at 7eleven. Anyway, I didn't manage to go out of the school compound so, my best bet was to keep on drinking lots and lots of water until my tummy bloated! Thank goodnes in the middle of the day the killing headache slowly faded away. I just feel so unhealthy right now! What could possibly the cause? I wonder if doing Bikram Yoga exercises will help?
What are the causes of hair loss? Here are two not so reliable causes of hair loss. Years back when I was in high school, my friends told me that if we eat too much of Maggie Mee, our hair will fall off. Why? According to them, the rempah ratus(instant noodle self add ingredients a.k.a spices) contains a lot of MSG that'll help you shed some hair. I don't know if this is true. The second reason, if you invest hours and hours of time in critically studying for your PMR, SPM, STPM or whatever! It'll slowly result to baldness. Again, I don't know for sure if these reasons are true and worth believing. Is there a cure for this? As far as I know, there are thousands of hairloss treatment products out there on the web. I don't know which of them are legit but, I do know that all are claiming to be the real thing! I guess it's for us to check out ourselves. Right? Later.
It really amazes me on what the internet can do now days. I can imagine hundreds or thousands of ways of how it can provide benefits to us. Other than that, it also does the opposite. But, I can see that everyone is getting something good out of the internet so far. Like for example, a total nobody can turn out to be somebody in the internet or web community. How you may ask me? Well, nowadays we have sites like Myspace, friendster, Hi-5, & many more! Oh ya! Not forgetting the many different kinds of blogs scattered everywhere in the wild wild web!
I would have never involved myself in this kind of activity if it wasn't for my significant one. To tell you guys the truth, at first, I was kind of reluctant to expose myself to the web community or should I say the world. But, I just took up the challenge and here I am! I stumbled upon something new(to me of course). There is this site called squidoo. And by the looks of it, I think it is getting widely known to web users around the globe. I don't really know how to explain what it really is. If you guys want to know or want to take a sample look of how people can make use of it, take a tour of this Neil Crespi on Squidoo . I hope you'll like it!
What is rock tumbling? I’ve never heard of ‘rock tumbling’ before till now. Rock tumbling is actually a hobby. Sounds strange no? Well, of course it sounds strange especially to me because I didn’t know that this kind of hobby ever existed. Interesting! Rock tumbling is actually a process whereby rough stone is taken as a raw material, and rotated inside a barrel with a selection of harder "grits", until all the rough edges have been removed (www.rocktumblinghobby.com). I’m not sure if this kind of hobby is enjoyed by everyone particularly in Thailand.
If you are interested in becoming rock tumblers , there are many sites in the net that can help you in starting your journey in becoming one. Just Google it!
This is very funny indeed! Imagine keying all the words in and then sending the whole thing(laptop) through a messenger(a real horse riding messenger). Huh! For a moment there, I thought he was going to email it via electronic or yahoo, gmail, etc.
It's already late...I mean early in the morning. I'm creating another blog entry especially for my own pleasure! Hey, it's my blog so I can do anything with it. As I wish! Right. Remember a few entries ago I mentioned about going for a three days trip to the greenery resort? This evening we were discussing about a possible trip next month or so? Well, it all depends on the cash in our pockets and wallets of course. If, everything goes well, maybe...we'll go to Malaysia(KL). Just for the weekend. I know it's not a Branson getaway trip and it's too short but hey, at least we manage to escape briefly from all the madness here in bangkok! We'll see. Till then.
I haven't logged on to my Hotmail account for a while now. I don't know why? But, I guess it's because most of my emails usually goes to my primary account now days. Even though I turned on my MSN messenger every now and then still, I don't have the urge to check out my mails. Well, I finally signed in this morning and I was not surprised at all to see hundreds of mail flooded my inbox. Hundreds! That's all right for emails of course. BUT, imagine if it was your ordinary mail boxes ? I don't think I want those mails to rot in them. Do you? I guess not too.
I was expecting the insurance guy to come a little bit early yesterday, but it turns out that he was more than an hour late! I can imagine Bangkok's traffic jam, but I cannot imagine him being late when he came with a motorbike! The minute he stepped down, I was waiting patiently expecting again that he will complete his business and leave! Well, guess what? He did complete what was in his job descriptions but when it came to communication, I could hardly finish a sentence because every time I want to convey something, he will have a hard time understanding me and I with him. So, one way I solved the problem was to call my Thai friend. He was talking/using on my phone the whole time and when he was finally done talking to my friend, he returned me the phone and slowly stepped aside. As I came closer to him, I could smell cigarette all over him and it looked like as he is an alcoholic as well thus the delay. Oh well...how come drug rehabilitation don't monitor people such as him??
Don't you think this couple deserves a drug rehab?
There is something about Amy Winehouse's Rehab song. I don't know whether it is coincidence but recently I read about her on the paper and how she and her husband got into a terrible fight that it ended with both of them walking away bloody! Well, if you haven't already know, both of them are drug addicts and are okay about it. Well, to me this is like hell on earth. Look at what price they have to pay for taking it? Well, about the song Rehab, I enjoy it but definitely will go against buying or supporting her album, at least not until she changes the lyrics of Rehab to "They try to make me go to rehab and I say yes, yes yes!"
Wifey's school retreat is coming soon. What is bad to me about this retreat is that we will be going there with our last bit of money this month but what tops it all is when it reaches the final day because it is actually payday for one of us! With that, I could immediately guess where Wifey would take me to after the retreat. Where else if not Village Outlet! If you readers have the chance to visit Muak Lek one day, don't forget to stop by Village Outlet for it is a cool place to treat yourself shopping as if you're in a mini-Bangkok with lined up branded store calling. Sportswear are specially cheap and worth the bucks! Wifey already has a list of things she spotted and put it into the "next month's pay checklist." Mostly branded sportswear and I am sure she wants the golf apparel ladies too since the colors are mostly her favorite colors. I hope we don't end up doing major shopping!
When a teacher is all bog down with non-stop teaching for a whole day long, all he/she wishes to have as soon as classes end is to enjoy some peacefulness in his/her desk! Well, not all can find solitary moments but at least for me, if peacefulness can't be sought, there is always online games to enjoy!
I have to tell you that playing online games is one of the best getaways! Besides being addictive, it helps you forget all about your past and current activities once you are all hooked up with the game. There are many different sites that offers various types of games that suits our preferences. One of my favorite site, Phelios dot com, offers games ranging from mac games to rpg games. I don't know when can my dream of playing mac games at home is ever going to be fulfilled, but I hope it will turn into a reality very soon for I am thinking of getting one mac for the family, if financial permits.
Take a look at the two diapers above. Now, what's the difference between these two? Anyone? Any difference at all? They both look the same right? Maybe if I didn't write the caption on the two pictures, you guys won't be able to tell which is which. Huh! Now, what's got into me? Talking about diapers suddenly? Beats me! (Other than advertising of course) I remember a few months back, I overheard my wife and a good friend of ours were talking about ...you know... girls stuff. And they were talking about not liking the situations when they are having their periods ... that sort of thing. And the friend of ours admitted to both of us that she preferred wearing adult diapers instead of wearing the "proper" thing. I was like "what?" Boy, what a really weird preference I might say.
Probably this is how she(our friend) will look like wearing the wrong diaper! Yikes!
Talking about diapers, here are two funny cartoons I stumbled upon when I entered the phrase "baby diapers" in Google.
Last Friday when I was about to go out of the school gate, I saw two men busy doing something with the not so new school building. When I took a closer look, I found out that they were adding some more metal structures to the new building. What was it you might ask? Well, they were attaching roofs to cover up the path leading to the entrance or maybe all the sides of the building so that when it rains nobody will get wet or something. But, before they could do that they have to do a lot of weldings. I don't know what kind of plasma cutting tools they have but I sure hope it's a good one. Anyway, all the best to those hardworking men. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes because I don't like watching those sparks of flames flying here and there when you're trying to weld steels together. Later...
On the 23rd to 25th of September I'll be joining my wife in her once in a year school retreat activity. This time they'll be going to Khao Yai. For your information, Khao Yai which means "Big Mountain" is one of the national park in Thailand. But, I heard we're not going exactly to that location. We're going to a place called "The Greenery Resort." I'm not really excited about all this, but I'm looking forward to relax! Well, that means I've to get a two days leave from my school. I hope it all work out fine. Yikes! *Elvin, I'm depending on you* Talking about this, reminds me of Pigeon Forge cabin rental ! My first reaction upon seeing those cabins were WOW! Boy, I'd really love to waste my money on one of the cabins. It's really worth it, plus the scenery over there is a real heart stopper!
The world wide web keeps on adding us with lots of surprises these days. Do you guys agree with me? It never fails to amazed me with weird or the unthinkable unimaginable things or subjects. Everything is accessible to us online! Isn't that great?! I know of one site where they can help you with invitations. Basically from birthday announcements, wedding invitations, party announcements, engagement announcements and etc. You name it everything is there! Why didn't we stumble upon this site before? If we had, it would have probably saved cost for us. These people are geared up for any kinds of functions. No worries!
School is re-opening soon and just the thought of it makes me think how unlucky I am. Why? I didn't get enough break from teaching summer school. How I wished my holidays were a little bit longer. Anyway, this morning was our teachers gathering day, I mean for the newcomers and the oldies. I haven't made any preparation for classes yet. Still idling around and that's bad! I'll start tomorrow. I hate doing yearly plans and lesson plans. Ugh! What else do I need to prepare? You guys know what? Seeing kids coming in with their uniforms really freaks me out. The school will be crawling with wild kids again. Talking about uniforms, I bought a few myself. Well, not uniforms...working clothes and two new ties. I'm thinking of getting myself two nice looking cufflinks too.
